The Prime Time Band Board held its quarterly meeting on October 11, 2011 at the home of Kathy Bartkowiak.

Two new members were elected to the Board, Carol Anderson and Lynne Halterlein. They will be replacing members Nancy Ashton and Chet Caldeira.

Among the many items discussed was the rejection by the Goleta School District of having a district wide band. The Prime Time Band had committed $1,000.00 of PTB special funds to help establish the band. Jeff is hopeful that in the future there will be a band, for more details contact Jeff or Meredith Sedgwick.

Linda Baumann, our Treasurer, reported that the band is continuing to remain in the black. Thank you Linda for the good news and for your never ending excellent service.

The Web Site Report received from John Calder included a recommendation that a Bulletin Board be established on the PTB web site. It will be used for the posting of a variety topics that members wish to share such as free tickets to a performance, etc.. The email would continue to be used for band related topics. Visit the web site; John is excellent at keeping us informed.

The Pops Band has already performed once this fall and will again perform on Friday, October 21st. Pops Band is always fun for band members. We get to play music for very appreciative audiences. The PTB Fall Concert will be December 11 at San Marcos High School Auditorium. Our concerts have great audiences and once again Jeff has chosen some challenging music. This should be a wonderful concert if all the effort being put into it is any indicator.

The PTB Dinner is scheduled for January 27. The Board wishes to thank Ken Lincoln, Judy Cousineau and Vicky Kennedy for their willingness to organize this event. Last year was a lot of fun for everyone. The Board hopes you will be able to attend.

The Board welcomes new members Sandy Adams, 1st clarinet, Ayse Taimuty, 2nd Flute, and Tony Amendariz, 1st French horn. We hope that they enjoy Prime Time Band.
