Due to some very early booking on the part of some other community groups, we were not able to secure our usual date for the winter concert at San Marcos High School. After contacting Dos Pueblos High, La Cumbre Junior High, the Garvin Theatre, and Santa Barbara High School, we found that the only other venue available for our dates in December was the Marjorie Luke Theatre at Santa Barbara Junior High on December 22nd. The theatre is expensive, and this is very late in December for our concert.

In a special meeting the PTB board unanimously decided to hold our winter concert on Sunday, November 24th at San Marcos High School. This is the week before Thanksgiving, which comes very late this year, and this date should not conflict with the City College band performance, which will probably be on December 8th. It will be wonderful to get a jump on the holiday rush of musical events, and we are happy to keep our audience coming to a familiar venue. We will publish this date in our June program and alert our audience to the new time with lots of early publicity. This may even be an exciting new trend for us!

Mark your calendars for a Friday, November 22 set-up, Saturday, November 23 dress rehearsal (still mandatory), and a Sunday, November 24 concert at 2 p.m.

From time to time we all have important things we want to say to the band during our rehearsal break. We are a large and diverse group so it seems reasonable to have some type of guidelines concerning these announcements.
The Board of Directors recently adopted a policy that is currently in force. Please read this policy.

Thanks again for a wonderful performance today at the Women's Club. As I was milling about at the tea many people came up to me to tell me how much they enjoyed the performance. In fact one woman said she would like to make a donation to the organization. Heather just happened to have a donation envelope in her purse (thanks Heather!) so I gave that to her. Keep an eye on the mail!

The PTB has a bulletin board that our members can use to post items of interest to the entire band. These items are not necessary for the successful operation of the band so they are not disseminated through emails to all band members.
